Two Warsaw employees with a combined 50 years of service to the city were recognized at Friday’s Board of Public Works and Safety - Brent Fifer and Richard Brunch.
Human Resource generalist Montana Gardner said Brent Fifer is celebrating 15 years of service with the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory this month. About a month ago Fifer was promoted to captain “and that promotion really reflects the kind of leader that he is,” she said.
Fifer has a “wealth of knowledge” he brings to the WWFT and consistently performs his duties with professionalism and reliability, Gardner stated.
“He’s someone his team can always count on and always seems to have a smile to share with others, albeit sometimes it’s ornery,” she continued. “Thank you, Brent, for your commitment and dedication, your leadership and your service for our community.”
She then recognized Richard Bunch, who has 35 years with the Warsaw Wastewater Treatment Utility.
“He started with the city in the operations plant and moved into the pre-treatment lab back in 1994 where he’s been ever since,” Gardner stated. “Over those 35 years, he’s built an incredible amount of knowledge and experience and has truly become a cornerstone of his team. Richie is known not only for his dedication to his work, but also for his great sense of humor and positive attitude.”
She said Bunch is always willing to lend a hand, share what he knows and, like Fifer, always seems to have a smile on his face.
“Richie, reaching 35 years of service is an amazing milestone and it speaks volumes about your commitment to this city and your co-workers,” Gardner stated.
“On behalf of the city, thank you, both, for your years of service, your knowledge and the positive impact you’ve had on those around you.”
