A Warsaw teen took a vehicle from his residence without permission Thursday evening and struck a light support causing the airbags to deploy. Thirteen-year-old Jose Tepo removed a 1998 black Chevrolet S10 truck, registered to Jessica A. Cielo, Pierceton, Thursday and drove to the parking lot north of RadioShack in Warsaw. Tepo was out looking for his friend’s vehicle in the lot and began to turn left. He explained that as he was turning he struck the concrete base for a light support post, causing between $5,000 to $10,000 in damage to the truck. Neither the base or light support were damaged in the collison. After Tepo was released to his guardian, Warsaw Police contacted the owner of the truck. Cielo reportedly told police the Chevy S10 is rarely driven and because of that she does not have insurance on the vehicle.
