The public is invited to attend the 12th Annual Camp Mack Festival Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Feast on waffles, sausage and cinnamon rolls at the food court at 9 a.m. before heading to Quinter-Miller for the benefit auction. Breakfast foods will continue to be available until 11 a.m.
Lunch choices (served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) include pork burgers, hot dogs and brats, vegetable soup, ham and beans, corn bread baked outdoors, potato chips made on the spot, a wide selection of pies and other treats.
Bid on items available at the silent auction from noon to 2 p.m. in Quinter-Miller Auditorium. Some cash-and-carry items also will be available at the silent auction site.
Outside Quinter-Miller Auditorium, people may walk the Yellow Rope Road and vote for their favorite scarecrow with quarters or dollars. That "road" leads back to Quinter-Miller where attendees may bid at the silent auction on the scarecrows that they would like to purchase to decorate their porch or lawn this fall.
Enjoy a variety of vocal and instrumental music, from gospel quartets to dulcimer music, from a gospel band to violin music. These performances will be in Wampler Retreat Center and under the tent at the food court.
Take in a square dance performance at the tennis courts, and catch the magic show on Quinter-Miller stage. Watch demonstrators do woodturning, corn grinding and shelling, spinning, flower pounding and other crafts. Children will have plenty of time to take part in crafts, games and food projects planned just for them in Sarah Major Lodge. They may make some Christmas gifts. They may want to have their faces painted as well.
Sit and see Camp Mack on a hayride, horse-drawn carriage ride or train ride. Enjoy a pontoon ride and see the camp from a different perspective. Rides are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end in time for the Becker celebration at 3 p.m.
The highlight of this year's festival is the Becker Blessing that begins at 3 p.m. at the site of the planned new kitchen, dining and office building. People will share memories of Becker Lodge and hear plans for building new facilities.
