NORTH WEBSTER - A Carmel youth lost two fingers in a skiing accident Sunday morning on Webster Lake.
Katie L. Luechauer, 11, was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where medical personnel hoped to reattach the two middle fingers of the girl's left hand.
However, a search of the area where the 10:10 a.m. accident occurred was unsuccessful.
According to a report from the Department of Natural Resources, Luechauer was being towed on a water sled and somehow got the tow rope tangled around her fingers.
