1 Suffers Smoke Inhalation, 2 Treated For Heat From Syracuse House Fire Saturday

SYRACUSE - A total of three people were treated and released after a house fire in Syracuse Saturday night, July 4.
Turkey Creek Fire Territory reported on their Facebook page Sunday that at approximately 10:03 p.m. Saturday, they were dispatched for a reported residential fire at 7790 Cherokee Road, Syracuse. Engine 12-2 arrived and confirmed a working fire. With heavy fire conditions noted upon arrival, defensive operations were initiated.
One occupant was treated and released at the scene for smoke inhalation. Two firefighters were treated and released for heat-related illness.
County records indicate the home is owned by Mitchell A. and Tamara E. Losee.
Mutual aid was provided by the Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory, Milford Fire Department, Benton Township, Cromwell Fire, Plain Township Fire Department, Syracuse Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
The Turkey Creek Fire Territory cleared the scene at approximately 2 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
