1 Injured In Saturday Car-Pickup AccidentOne person was injured in a car-pickup collision that occurred at 3:03 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of North CR 400E and East CR 200N, Warsaw.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s accident report, Tyler A. Lafontaine, 19, Decatur, was westbound in his blue 2008 Toyota Corolla on CR 200N. He stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with CR 400E but could not see north of the intersection due to the corn field.
He said he slowly proceeded into the intersection and didn’t see the other vehicle until he was in the intersection.
The other vehicle, a red 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jonathon M. Bennett, 31, North CR 400E, Warsaw, was southbound on CR 400E and did not have a stop sign.
Bennett said he did not see Lafontaine’s vehicle stop at the intersection.
A passenger in Lafontaine's vehicle, Molly M. Ellenberger, 18, Decatur, complained of pain to the neck and was taken from the scene by EMS.
The parents of a child in Lafontaine’s Toyota said they were going to seek a medical evaluation for the child.
