The Accelerated Reader program is in full swing at Madison Elementary School. Children in second to sixth grade set goals and work toward meeting those goals by the end of each nine-week grading period. If the goal is met the child may attend a celebration at the end of the nine weeks. The first nine-week celebration was a visit from Wanda and her traveling 'zoo'. Wanda works at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, and she is part of the Zoo to You program. The Cardinals especially love this program because they get the opportunity to touch various creatures.
