Zimmer will come before the Warsaw Plan Commission tonight requesting preliminary and final plat approval for the creation of a public right of way northwest of Center and Hepler Streets.
The proposed right of way would be used to construct a road to facilitate truck traffic in and out of the Zimmer property. The area involved in the proposal already lies on Zimmer property, and is currently part of the company's parking lot. Sanitary sewer or a water main is not present and is not needed for the right of way to serve its purpose.
Since the advertisement of Zimmer's proposal, the plan commission received several complaints from surrounding property owners against the potential right of way. Residents are concerned with noise pollution, increased traffic along their properties and litter problems.
Lewis and Nedra Dobbins will request a vacation of public right of way on a tract of land east of their property along Pike Lake.
Plan commission members are Joe Thallemer, Jeff Grose, Jim Gast, Alan Clingan, Tammy Dalton, Lacy Francis and Rick Keevan. Jeremy Skinner is the city planner.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. tonight at city hall.
