Zebras Pull Away In Fourth

ROCHESTER - For three quarters of football Friday night, Whitko was right on the heels of No. 6 (3A) Rochester on its home field.

But two fourth-quarter touchdowns, and Whitko fell 37-22. The loss drops the Wildcats to 2-6 overall and 2-4 in the Three Rivers Conference; Rochester improves to 7-1 and 5-1.

Burl Haywood led the Wildcats on the ground with his 10 carries for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Alan Robbins added 35 yards on seven carries, while Brent Goble tallied 29 yards on 10 carries.

Adam Frounfelter was the workhorse for the Zebras, pounding out 161 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.

In all, the Zebras amassed 265 rushing yards on 41 carries.

Whitko will be at Three Rivers Conference rival Tippecanoe Valley Friday.
