Yvonne Marie Coburn, 70, of Leesburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. Yvonne was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to those she loved. She may have lost her battle to cancer, but her memory will be treasured forever by all who knew her.
She was born on June 30, 1955, in Warsaw, to Nellie Ann Hollis Spurling and Robert Norman Spurling. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Yvonne was a 1973 graduate of Wawasee High School in Syracuse. A year later, on Feb. 2, 1974, Yvonne married the love of her life, Eric Eugene Coburn, and they were blessed with 52 years of marriage.
After a lifetime of hard work, Yvonne retired in 2021. She spent over 33 years as a valued employee at Image Group, in addition to five years at The Paper and seven years at Harmony Printing as an estimator. Throughout her life she enjoyed doing many activities she loved … golfing, bowling, reading and creating many knitting projects and cross-stitch pieces. Above all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and looked forward to Sunday’s spent worshipping alongside her church family at Capstone Free Methodist Church in Warsaw.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Eric E. Coburn, Leesburg; son, William Robert (Mary) Coburn, Olympia, Wash.; daughter, Erica (Ron) Purvis, Claypool; three grandchildren: Mason Purvis, Madison and Gavin Coburn; and her brother, Daniel (Luanne) Spurling, Cromwell. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may visit 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Yvonne’s life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 17 at Capstone Free Methodist Church, 2033 S. CR 150W, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Rick Hurley. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to Capstone Free Methodist Church, 2033 S. 150 W, Warsaw, IN 46580; or to New Horizons Aviation, 17229 County Road 42, Goshen, IN 46526 … in memo line, designated for Warsaw High School flight students.
