Wagon Wheel Theatre will present its Youth Workshop’s performance of “Into the Woods” Saturday at 1 p.m. Now in its seventh year of producing quality student productions on the Wagon Wheel stage, the camp that brought to life shows such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Bye Bye Birdie”, “Once on this Island” and last year’s hit “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” is back with another spectacular show “Into the Woods” is a classic by Stephen Sondheim that uses well-known fairy tale characters to weave a complex and dark moral story about community. In ways very similar to “Once on this Island”, the play explores the importance of stories in the lives of people in crisis. The Wagon Wheel Theatre is committed to serving the community and region through arts education. Aimed at giving high school students the experience of professional theater making, this nine-day, fast-paced experience brings students from rehearsal to curtain in a little more than a week.“Into the Woods” is directed by Andy Robinson (Abel Frake in “State Fair” and Pap Finn in “Big River”) and Wagon Wheel favorite Briana Borger. Adult tickets are only $12 and children 12 and under are $8. To order tickets or for more information, call the box office at 574-267-8041 or visit the Wagon Wheel website at wagonwheeltheatre.com
