I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in November 2022. My first chemo infusion was given at KCH Cancer Care Center. At that first appointment I received a brochure about the LiveStrong program available for cancer patients/survivors at the Warsaw YMCA.
I want to publicly express my heartfelt appreciation for the volunteers and class members of Live Strong Class #46 at the Y, the K21 Foundation and the Cancer Care Foundation for the funding and to those responsible for establishing this program for our community. Thanks to Coach Brenda Allbritten, Coach Dave Readle, Coach Theresa Thrasher, Chaplain Ben Snyder and Coordinator Susan Potter for the gifts of your time, your commitment to educating us on the merits and details of physical exercise, your love and your prayers. You provided a much needed diversion and reason to get up and get moving at a time when I felt like curling up and sleeping all the time.
