Yeo's 44 Sets Triton Record, Leads to Win

Posted
ROCHESTER — Triton junior Clay Yeo had a career night in Tuesday’s 67-49 win at Rochester.

On top of scoring a career-best 44 points, the point total also broke Jack Carpenter’s previous single-game record of 43, which was set during the 1980-81 season.

Yeo’s performance also gave him 507 points on the season, making him only the third Triton Trojan to surpass 500 points in one season.

During his two-plus years at Triton, the Valparaiso University-bound Yeo has 1,167 career points, which ranks second all-time in school history. Griffyn Carpenter, a 2011 Triton graduate, holds the school scoring record with 1,327.

Making 16 of 22 field goals and 12 of 12 free throws, Yeo almost outscored Rochester by himself, but he also posted nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win.

Also for Triton, senior Zak Shively had eight points, five assists and two steals, while sophomore Tanner Shepherd had seven points.
The 15-4 Trojans travel to Tippecanoe Valley Friday night.
