BOURBON – Led by a stellar performance from senior Masen Yeo, Triton High School’s varsity boys basketball team beat the Washington Township Senators 62-50 Friday night. Helping the Trojans improve to 2-0 on the season, Yeo made 10 of 14 field goal attempts, including a 6-of-6 effort from three-point range, en route to a game-high 29 points. Yeo’s statline also included four rebounds, four steals and multiple dunks. Senior Jordan Anderson and junior Grant Johnson chipped in with 14 and 12 points, respectively, in the win. Alex Perez led the Senators, now 1-1 on the season, with 18 points, while Dustin Payne and Nolan Johnson scored 15 and 10 points, respectively. The Trojans, who were 18 of 30 from the field overall, 7 of 11 from the arc, and 19 of 31 at the charity stripe, led 22-14 after one quarter, 35-19 at halftime and 53-32 going into the final frame. Washington Township finished the game 16 of 48 from the field overall, 7 of 21 from the arc, and 11 of 14 at the free throw line. The Senators won the JV game 45-42. Triton now turns its attention to a pair of Northern Lakes Conference opponents. The Trojans host Plymouth Tuesday, and then entertain NorthWood Friday.
