SHIPSHEWANA – The Blue Gate Theatre in Shipshewana has added one more surprise to its 2016 lineup. American music icon Wynonna and her band The Big Noise will finish off the Blue Gate’s Signature Concert Series at 7 p.m. Dec. 3. Tickets are on sale through the Blue Gate box office and website. The concert is part of the Blue Gate’s ninth season of Signature Concerts. “We’re very excited to welcome such a legendary performer to Shipshewana,” said Andrew Rohrer, vice president of sales and marketing. “This concert will not only represent an incredible finish for our 2016 Signature Series, but also adds another heavily requested American icon to the Blue Gate line-up. Our guests asked and we delivered.” Wynonna and her band The Big Noise, led by her husband/drummer/producer Cactus Moser, released their debut full-length album in February via Curb Records to critical acclaim, according to a press release from Blue Gate. Wynonna has described the new sound as “vintage yet modern” and a “return to the well.” It’s a rootsy work encompassing country, Americana, blues, soul and rock, the release states. The album features special guests Derek Trucks, Jason Isbell, Susan Tedeschi and Timothy B Schmit. The Blue Gate also will begin releasing 2017 dates over the coming weeks, updates can be found on their website. Tickets for the January through April shows will go on sale in August to the public, and can be purchased by calling 888-447-4725 or online at www.BlueGateTheatre.com
