SYRACUSE – Wynn L. Schwalm, 58, Syracuse, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Jan. 6, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was born Feb. 13, 1957, in Goshen, to Dean L. and Anna Douma Schwalm. On March 9, 2006, in St. Lucia, he married Julie A. Rush, who survives in Syracuse. He was a lifetime Goshen and Syracuse area resident, graduated in 1976 from Goshen High School and attended Northwood University, Midland, Mich. He was employed at Gardeners Outdoor Power Equipment, Goshen, for four years and formerly worked a short time at Main Channel Marina, Syracuse, and Goshen Electric for several years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Syracuse; former member of the Sons of the American Legion and formerly attended the Goshen Church of the Brethren. Also surviving are a son, Ryan (and spouse Nicole) Schwalm, Syracuse; his mother, Anna Schwalm, Goshen; a stepdaughter, Shawna (and spouse Matt) Roberts, South Bend; a stepson, Dustin Jackson, Angola; two grandsons, Michael Schwalm and Austin Bickel; two stepgrandsons, Seth and Tyler Adams; a sister, Cinda (and spouse Paul) Bowers, Venice, Fla.; and a brother, Tim Schwalm, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Jeff Boyer, of the North Webster Church of God, officiating.
