WPD To Have Enforcement Blitz

Posted
The Warsaw Police Department will have an enforcement and awareness blitz on U.S. 30 beginning Sunday. This will be done to advance traffic safety in the Warsaw area.

During this time, Warsaw police officers will be increasing patrols for the enforcement of speeding violations, improper lane changes, failing to use turn signals, distracted and erratic or impaired driving, as well as large commercial trucks driving in the left lane through the city limits,” said Det. Brad Kellar, public information officer for the WPD.  Officers will be those disregard red lights while continuing left turns and blocking traffic that has a green light in congested intersections.

WPD received over 900 documented traffic violations and over 200 reported traffic collisions along U.S. 30 in 2018, said Kellar.

“The focus will be on citations during this blitz so we hope this announcement will serve as a reminder to drive safely during this enforcement period,” said Kellar.
