Editor, Times-Union: Mrs. Kubacki, I am a proud member of USW Local 809. When you called Mr Hooker a chcken sh** at the State House Nov. 22, 2011, you called the whole local 809 the same and are attacking our family!
Your husband’s salary as CEO of Lake City Bank is public knowledge, and as Lonnie Slone stated, going into politics you and your whole family are public. Be it good or bad.
You put a clarification in the paper saying you did not say unions made too much money. I am confused because March 2011 you said we need to take wage and benefit cuts to create more jobs. I suggest that you and your husband take wage, benefit, and exercisable option cuts. Which I know you will not do as you probably feel you deserve everything you make.
I work 60-hour weeks when available but make less then one tenth of what you and your husband make. I am not complaining, because I am blessed to have the job I have and to be a member of USW Local 809. To take from us and our families is a real slap in the face!
Walk in my shoes for a day and you will see I earn every penny and benefit I receive. Remember where you came from Rebecca and that you are to represent the people, not just yourself.
