Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Friday approved a change order for John T. Camden Construction Co. more time to construct a boardwalk.
The board approved the change order request from the building and planning department for the second phase of the Lake City Greenway Beyer Farm Trail south of Kosciusko Community Hospital.
The change order is for a three-week extension. The construction company requested an extension to March 21 to complete the project.
The request was made by the contractor due to abnormal weather conditions of heavier-than-normal snow and flooding in January, according to Gisele Cox, Warsaw community development coordinator. The conditions prevented access to the job site and the inability of the contractor to start the project.
The original boardwalk construction contract between the building and planning department and the Pierceton construction company was approved at the Feb. 29 board meeting.
The board also:
n Approved the Warsaw Police Department to apply for a Victims of Crime Act grant through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
n Approved a maintenance generator contract between the Warsaw Fire Department and Cummins Crosspoint LLC.
n Approved a release of mortgage request from Housing Opportunities of Warsaw for a home that has fulfilled the affordability period and the loan.
n Approved a $882 contract between the building and planning department and Sand Office Equipment & Service Inc. for a copier maintenance agreement.
n Approved a $19.80 pay increase of $1,320.25 for WPD Records Clerk Kelly Geiger now that she successfully completed her one-year probationary period.
