MARTIN, Ky. – Woodrow Hunter, 83, of Prestonsburg, Ky., died May 1, 2011, in Martin, Ky. He was born July 10, 1927, in Martin, to Isaac and Cordelia Slone Hunter. He married Irene Woods, who preceded him in death. He married Lucy Morrison, who survives. He formerly worked at Clausing and retired as a factory worker at Polock Paper Co. Surviving are three sons, Arley Hunter and Columbus Gordon (and spouse Pearlie Jean) Hunter, all of Prestonsburg, and Donald Ray (and spouse Robin) Hunter, Ypsilanti, Mich.; three daughters: Wanda Fay (and spouse Bill) Conn, Martin; Helen (and spouse Larry Jean) Samons, Lexington, Ky.; and Roberta Ann (and spouse Elige) Thompson, Warsaw; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a step-grandson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with David Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Woods Cemetery, Prestonsburg. Calling is after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
