Woodford ‘Woody’ L. Johnson

MENTONE – Woodford “Woody” L. Johnson, 80, of Mentone, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.

He was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Richmond, Mo., to Nelson and Evelyn Lusk Johnson. On May 17, 1957, in Richmond, he was married to Juanita Faye Judd. She preceded on May 16, 2007.

Woody formerly was part owner and plant manager of Kralis Brothers. He had 50 years in the poultry processing business.

He was a 1957 graduate of Richmond High School. He was a former member of the Missouri National Guard.

He enjoyed driving and modifying his vehicles. He was an avid Chrysler and Dodge owner. He always kept a clean truck and was known for his custom chrome on everything he drove.

He could be seen touring Mentone most days on his golf cart with his dog Dexter. In earlier years he was a motorcycle enthusiast and even rode out to Sturgis.

Survivors include his daughters: Cheryl (husband Dan) Sneed, Greentown; Shelly Sill, Durham, N.C.; and Denise (husband Mark) Fisher, Rochester; son, Dennis Johnson (partner Kim McKnight), Cumming, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Evelyn Johnson; and his wife, Juanita Johnson.

A memorial services is planeed for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Pastor Jason Rice will officiate.

Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home.
