Wood-Burning Stove Causes FireCLAYPOOL - A Monday afternoon fire caused by a wood-burning stove was brought under control quickly, doing little damage.
The Burket Fire Department was called to the Beaver Dam area to a mobile home fire at 3 p.m. at 9512 CR 750W.
The property is listed under the name of Wayne Hendricks, but was occupied by William Cloud at the time of the fire.
An exterior wood-burning stove is blamed for starting a small blaze underneath the trailer. The wood burner, a forced air unit, was not a commercially made or installed unit. The fire was extinguished quickly and did less than $5,000 in damage to the structure.
According to Burket Fire Chief Mike Yazel, firefighters were on the scene for less than two hours.
The Burket Fire Department was assisted by the Mentone Fire Department.
