Woman Suffers Smoke Inhalation In Saturday FireA woman was taken to the hospital, a dog died and three kittens were saved in a morning house fire on Saturday.

Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Warsaw Police Department and Lutheran EMS responded at 6:35 a.m. to 425 S. Indiana St. to a call of a house fire.

Mike Davis and his wife Kelly live at the home, according to WWFT Public Information Officer Max Kinsey. Both were outside when responders arrived.

Kelly Davis was taken by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital for smoke inhalation and burns.

The family dog died in the accident, and firefighters found three kittens in the home they returned safely to the Davis family.

The fire started in the left portion of the house and caused some exposure damage to another house just north of it.

The cause of the fire is determined to be accidental, according to Kinsey, with an estimated damage of $85,000.

The fire was under control within 20 minutes and the scene was cleared in two hours.
