Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
A Warsaw woman is in the Kosciusko County Jail after allegedly injuring her 3-year-old daughter.
Dawn Holloway, 27, of 3940 N. Meadowridge Drive, is charged with felony aggravated battery. Her bond is set at $5,000.
According to police documents, Holloway took her daughter to Kosciusko Community Hospital on Wednesday. At that time, the child had a large lump on the side of her head, a black eye and numerous scratches and deep cuts over most of her body, a police report noted.
Holloway reportedly told hospital officials the girl was accidentally shut in a car door.
Police photographed multiple new and old injury marks on the child's body.
When asked what happened to her eye, the child reportedly said, "Mommy did it."
The Division of Family and Child Services took custody of the girl, who was placed in foster care pending further investigation.
