Woman attacks stranger; arrestedA Warsaw woman is facing a battery charge after allegedly attacking another woman who didn’t know her at all.

Mindy Sue Yeazel, 42, of 116 N. CR 300E, #7, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:44 p.m. Feb. 21 for battery causing serious bodily injury and disorderly conduct. Her bond for the level 5 felony battery was set at $10,000 surety and $250 cash.

On Feb. 21, Warsaw Police Department officer Christopher Brown was dispatched to a downtown Warsaw bar in reference to a battery. Brown made contact with the victim and a man, both who said the victim was battered by a woman – later identified as Yeazel – that neither of them knew.

The victim told Brown that she and the man exited the bar when she heard a man and Yeazel yelling at her. Yeazel began hitting the victim and the victim started hitting Yeazel back.

Yeazel got the victim on the ground and hit her face on the asphalt before she and the unknown man fled the scene. Brown saw that the victim lost multiple teeth during the altercation and that one eye was swollen and bruised.

The man who was with the victim repeated the same story, adding that the unknown man attempted to start a fight with him.

Warsaw police found Yeazel with a cut on her nose, scuffs on her knuckles and blood on her cheek. She was taken to the jail.

A no contact order was entered Tuesday. Her initial hearing is set for 1 p.m. March 28 in Kosciusko County Superior Court III.
