Posted
COLUMBIA CITY – Scott Wise announced he is seeking the 3rd district congressional seat.
Wise is seeking the republican nomination for the seat Marlin Stutzman is vacating. Wise, former Whitley County Councilman, said he believes dramatic change is necessary in Washington, and his education, experience and background make him the best representative to send from Indiana’s 3rd district, according to his announcement.
Wise is also a precinct committee chairman, 2008 GOP primary contender to Mark Souder (3rd district Indiana House), 2010 general election contender (Stutzman/Hayhurst 3rd district House), and 2014 general election contender (Stutzman/Kuhnle 3rd dist Indiana House.)
Wise is the Continuous Improvement Manager at Warner Electric and lives and works in Columbia City.  He is married, turns 48 in July and is a graduate of Indiana University. He grew up in Lagrange County, lives and works in Columbia City and is a lifelong resident of the 3rd district.
Wise said he believes congressional leadership needs replaced with people who “believe in the American people, more than the government,” the release states.
“It has been three and and a half decades since Ronald Reagan promised a smaller government, and we have instead dramatically expanded the size and scope of government, enslaved our children to debt and taken irresponsible government to a new level,” Wise is quoted as saying. “Sending an establishment republican to Washington changes nothing. Sending Scott Wise to Washington says Indiana’s 3rd district wants dramatic change in how our government operates.”
