Wise A Winner In Piano Competition

MISHAWAKA – Fifteen winners and 13 honorable mentions from a field of 80 contestants were named last weekend in the 19th annual Hartman Stickley Memorial Piano Competition at the downtown Mishawaka branch of the Mishawaka Penn Harris Public Library.
The competition was sponsored by the South Bend Area Music Teachers Association and underwritten by the Elnora Hartman Stickley Scholarship Fund.
The competition was open to pre-college students up to 18 years old. There were four divisions: Division I (5 to 8), Division II (9 to 11), Division III (12 to 14) and Division IV (15-18).
All students named below will receive cash awards and the winners will perform at the Winners Recital Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center, 900 W. Western Ave., South Bend. The recital is free and open to the public.
Winners from Kosciusko County included: Nathaniel Wise, Warsaw, seventh grade, 13 years old, homeschooled, Division III winner.
