Recently, one of our town residents has begun campaigning for a seat on the town council. His name is Jerry Nelson.
What you might not know is that he and his cohorts have been involved in a continuing lawsuit regarding ownership of land along the canal in Winona Lake. As of this writing, his actions, and those of his friends, have cost the taxpayers of Winona Lake more than $80,000, just in legal fees to defend the town! Imagine what he could do for, or should I say "to" us, if he got elected and went full time!
We all appreciate his interest in running for public office. However, I suggest that he and his wife move to Roseland, Ind., and both of them file to run for seats on the council up there. It would be a perfect match.
