Winona Lake's Stober Named Head VB Coach At Williams Baptist College

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Williams Baptist College has announced the hiring of Emily Stober as the next head coach of the Lady Eagles volleyball squad.  Stober spent four years as a player for WBC, and she is currently serving as the team’s assistant coach.
“Emily Stober has demonstrated the skill and the passion needed to coach at the collegiate level, and beyond that she has a clear devotion to Williams Baptist College and this volleyball program.  We are very fortunate to have her as the next coach of the volleyball Eagles,” said Williams Athletic Director Jeff Rider.
Stober will continue to serve as an assistant coach until the end of the year, when she will take over for interim coach Brad Baine.
“Coach Stober has a passion for the sport of volleyball and she is dedicated to prepare the Lady Eagles for any challenge they might encounter,” said Baine.  “Her knowledge of how to teach volleyball skills and the ability to implement tactical strategies will be advantageous for the program.”
Stober is a native of Winona Lake, Ind.  She is married to Scotty Stober, and she is the daughter of Randy and Kim Umbaugh.
The new coach holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from WBC and is currently working on her master in arts in media psychology from Fielding Graduate University.
“I am honored to follow several great coaches at WBC. Because I have been a part of the Lady Eagles volleyball family since 2011, the team and I are able to skip the introductions and jump right into the hard work. I've seen what this team is made of, and so I know what they are capable of,” said Stober.
Stober takes over a program that has had winning seasons in seven of the last eight years. The current team has a 15-11 record.
Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge.  The Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
