Winona Lake Man Killed In Single-Vehicle AccidentWINONA LAKE - A Winona Lake man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Thursday morning.
Michael John Peterson, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
The KCSO Fatal Team was called to assist the Winona Lake Police Department with a fatal crash at about 4:10 a.m. Thursday. The preliminary results of the investigation indicate Peterson was traveling north in a 2022 Toyota Camry on Kings Highway from Wooster Road prior to the collision. The Camry left the east side of the road and hit two large landscaping rocks, after which the vehicle returned to the road and rolled over, the release states.
The crash remains under investigation.
Along with the KCSO, Coroner’s Office and WLPD, responding agencies included the Winona Lake Fire Department, Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS.
