WINONA LAKE - A grant for $1.37 million was received recently by the town of Winona Lake from the Indiana Department of Transportation for improving CR 250E.
The exact details for the improvement project will be determined later.
A preliminary project of what the town wants to do with the money was proposed when the grant application was applied for, but the town may modify it.
According to the town's clerk-treasurer, Retha Hicks, the town wants to improve CR 250E as well as address some traffic concerns on the road. Under the guidelines of the grant, the town has two years before they must begin construction and seven years to complete the project.
The town is also trying to get the county involved with the project as a section of the road is county road.
