Retha Hicks, clerk treasurer said today construction crews have begun removing asbestos in the old Quonset hut that will serve as the new city building when its renovation is completed later this year. The asbestos removal will be done by April 5.
In other business, Hicks also announced the recycling program due to start this month has been delayed.
"We have not received the paperwork back from the state to purchase the recycling bins," she said. "So we're postponing the start of the program until we get those in and we can buy the bins. We can't incur any expenses until the state gets us their approval."
