WINONA LAKE - Phend & Brown Inc. on Tuesday provided an update to the roundabout project on Winona Avenue at Winona Lake.
Changing weather conditions and/or internal schedule changes may alter the dates below. Traffic control signage and detour markings will be provided in advance of, and during any closure.
As of Tuesday, the release states, Winona Avenue and McKinley Street will be closed to all traffic. Park Avenue will remain a one-way street heading south into Winona Lake.
Kings Highway will reopen to two-way traffic prior to the Winona Avenue closure.
Argonne Road will remain open to two-way traffic. The intersection will remain a two-way stop indicated through stop signs and pavement markings, the release states.
The trail will remain open, but will be re-routed along Winona Avenue while work on the new trail is completed. This will allow for the complete reconstruction of the Winona Avenue portion of the new roundabout.
Winona Avenue is expected to be closed for four to six weeks to perform this work.
Traffic leaving Winona Lake will follow a detour route East on 9th Street to College, North on College to 7th Street, East on 7th to Wooster. At Wooster Road and Kings Highway, traffic may travel north/west on Kings Highway to Argonne Road.
An alternate route is suggested to avoid delays, the release states.
