Winifred "Winnie" E. Cardarelli, 94, of Leesburg, died at 2:20 p.m. Sept. 20, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born April 27, 1915, in Smiths Grove, Ky., to Lorenzo Dow Matthews and Lila Pearl Casey Cardarelli. On June 16, 1940, in Indianapolis, she married Acky Cardarelli, who preceded her in death.
Moving to Leesburg from Indianapolis in 1970, she was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda (and spouse Gary) Eastlund, Leesburg, and Sandra (and spouse Lars) Anderson, Indianapolis; five grandchildren: Jeffrey Anderson (and Patty Werth), Victoria (and spouse Tom) Kremer and James (and spouse Jennifer) Anderson, all of Indianapolis; Kip (and spouse Brook) Goebel, Granger; and Brad Goebel, Laguna Beach, Calif.; two step-grandchildren, Carla (and spouse Kevin) Milliman, Columbia City, and Sheryl (and spouse David) Colquitt, Leesburg; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ray Hixon, Phoenix, Ariz., and Kenneth (and spouse Mona) Hixon, Galveston, Texas. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lila Mae Dundo and Evelyn English.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, officiated by Msg. James Wolfe of the church. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Indianapolis.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
