Wing-Stop Opens For Business In Warsaw

Posted

The first Wing-Stop was founded in 1994 in Garland, Texas.
Monday, the newest location for the restaurant opened in Warsaw at 562 W. CR 300N, in the Kohl’s shopping plaza next to Verizon.
Carl Loftis, Wing-Stop director of operations, said, “Our franchisee, we’re based out of Chicago. This is our 99th Wing-Stop.”
The closest other Wing-Stops are in Goshen and Fort Wayne.
He said they keep their menu simple.
“It’s chicken, fries and ranch, pretty much. We have boneless wings, bone-in wings, tenders, chicken sandwich, fries, ranch, blue cheese, honey mustard and corn. That’s our menu. We know what we do well and we stick to it. We don’t want to overcomplicate things,” he said.
Looking over their menu inside the restaurant, customers can choose wings with “all the heat” such as Atomic, Mango Habanero, Cajun or Spicy Korean O; “some heat” such as Original Hot, Hot Honey Rub, Louisiana Rub or Hickory Smoked BBQ; or “low heat” such as Mild, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan or Hawaiian. Sides include various flavored fries and corn. Coke products are on tap, and the dessert is a triple chocolate chunk brownie.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day, including Christmas and Thanksgiving.
While there is some seating inside Wing-Stop, Loftis said 70% of most of their orders are online.
“People get a better deal if they go on to the Wing-Stop app,” he said. “We just started a corporate (promotion), Club Wing-Stop, a new loyalty program, so they’re giving away tons of rewards and stuff on that.”
The loyalty program was launched back in May.
Customers can also order online at Wingstop.com
Loftis said their prices are competitive.
“We’re not the cheapest because we order nothing but jumbo wings on the classic, and then just with the price of chicken nowadays. The price of everything nowadays. But, we’re competitive. We’re definitely competitive,” he said.
Through the app on certain days, boneless wings are just 77 cents if you sign up through Club Wing-Stop.
“There are specials in there. We do specials all the time on large combos. We do like a 20-piece meal for $22, something like that,” he stated.
Loftis said as of Monday, they are still actively hiring. Employees from Fort Wayne are helping with the Warsaw location until locals can be hired in to fill all the positions.
“We are the fastest-growing wing chain in America right now. We just started last year a real heavy promotional campaign, so now you see it on the football, basketball, wrestling, UFC. We sponsor everything now,” he stated. “And we’re looking forward to being in Warsaw, giving back to the community, as well. When we come into a town, we want to be a partner in the town. We’re not just here to make money and wings. We want to be a part of the Warsaw family here.”
