Wine Tasting Event A Fundraiser For Pierceton Chamber

PIERCETON - Wine tasting, music, art and chocolate all will be a part of a fundraiser for the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce.
The Wine Tasting/Jazz Trio event is scheduled for 3:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 27 inside the Old Railroad Depot, east of Ind. 13, Pierceton. The theme is "Black & White." Cost is $20 per person in advance, $25 at the door. Tickets are available at stores in Pierceton, from Chamber members or by calling 574-594-2723.
Attendees should dress up for the affair.
Mad Anthony's will offer the wine and beer tasting, with Classic Catering serving hors d'oeuvres. Blue Lion Coffeehouse will offer coffee, with samples of fine chocolates and candies by Weckmuller.
Roxanne Coffelt will have her cultured pearl jewelry on hand for viewing and purchase. She started in the cultured pearl jewelry business while working and living in China for two years, according to Lila O'Connell, a member of the event committee.
On display and for sale will be art pieces by Sarah Creason, Columbia City; Robert A. Hudson, Winona Lake; and Joan Moore, North Webster.
While all that is going on, the Kevin Jazz Trio will perform in tuxedos from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tim May will provide music from 5 to 6 p.m.
Trio leader Kevin Piekarski is the assistant principal bassist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. He has performed with Tony Tennille, Maureen McGovern and Mel Torme. He also is a member of the Grace College music faculty.
Accompanying Piekarski on bass will be Jim Steele on keyboard and Rich Brown on reeds.
A silent auction of contributed items from local antique stores will be held. Pieces range from two Hummel dated and framed plaques from Sydow's valued at $75, to a Stephan baby gift basket valued at $40 to a Huntington House donated art piece valued at $250. There will be at least a dozen items for the auction.
Sponsors for the wine tasting and jazz trio event are still being sought.
For $400, a person or business can be a Gold sponsor. This includes 20 wine tasting tickets, name in program and on the sponsor board.
Ten wine tasting tickets are included in the $200 Silver sponsorship, as well as the sponsor's name on the program and sponsor board.
The Bronze sponsorship is $100, and includes five wine tasting tickets, name in program and on sponsor board.
