NAPPANEE - Wilma E. Rush, 86, formerly of Nappanee, died at 2:40 a.m. Feb. 11, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where she resided.
She was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Bremen, to Jonas O. and Emma Bellman Middaugh. On March 8, 1945, in West Palm Beach, Fla., she married Harvey A. Rush, who died March 27, 1988.
A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and worked at Excel, Elkhart; Ball Band, Mishawaka; Bremen Bearings; and Mast Upholstery, Nappanee. She attended First Church of God.
Surviving are a son, Gene (and spouse Rosemary) Robinson, Nappanee; two daughters, Shirley (and spouse Jim) Crane, Punta Gorda, Fla., and Cheryl Rush, Elkhart; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Church of God, Nappanee, with the Rev. Sam Bennett officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Fields. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
