The Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter of National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently chose a winner for its annual essay contest.
This year, students in fifth through eighth grade were asked to help celebrate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. Students were to pretend that they were alive during this time and had a friend who had become famous in history because of standing up for America during this exciting but dangerous time.
Reuben Williams, a fifth-grade student at Eisenhower Elementary, was chosen as the overall fifth-grade winner for Kosciusko County. His report was submitted at the state level for competition. Reuben is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chandler Williams.
