William V. Bruno, 97, of Warsaw, died at 4:15 p.m. Feb. 5, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., to Steve and Sarah “Sadie” Donato Bruno. On Nov. 11, 1972, in Chicago, Ill., he married Camille M. Martinque, who died Jan. 4, 2012.
Residing in Warsaw for the past 15 years, he was formerly from Chicago and Lombard, Ill. He worked as a union carpenter most of his life. He was a member of the Catholic faith and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, and also was a member of Carpenters Union Local 839, Schaumberg, Ill. He enjoyed music and was a self-taught musician.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol (and spouse Roger) Kunz, Janesville, Wis., and Sharon (and spouse Mike) Tallman, Cherry Valley, Ill.; a son, William “Bill” (and spouse Donna) Bruno Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill.; a stepson, Thomas (and spouse Sylvia) Skelton, Fresno, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Rita (and spouse Dana) Connelly, Perry, Ohio, and Marie (and spouse Bob) Raver, Warsaw; a sister, Marie Vondrasek, Kenosha, Wis.; two half brothers, Patrick Bruno, Schaumberg, Ill., and Albert Bruno, Elmwood Park, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepsister and a stepbrother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
