William T. “Bill” Deerwester, 77, Warsaw, passed away at 2 a.m. April 27, 2014, in Warsaw. He was born March 23, 1937, in Warsaw to Clarence and Florence Tusing Deerwester. On April 6, 1958, in Warsaw he married Katherine Rule, who survives in Warsaw. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from November 1955 to October 1957. He retired from Zimmer Inc. as a lab technician He was a member of the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts of America, Boy Scouts of Canada and the Warsaw American Legion Post 49. Also surviving are two sons, David (and spouse Renata) Deerwester, Columbia City, and Dan (and spouse Janette Turney) Deerwester, Warsaw; Bill is survived by his wife, Katherine Deerwester of Warsaw; sons David (and spouse Renata) Deerwester of Columbia City and Dan (Janette Turney) Deerwester of Warsaw; seven grandchildren: Denise Northern and Brandon Deerwester, both of Warsaw; Phil (and spouse Lydia) Deerwester, Philadelphia, Pa.; Stephanie Deerwester, Watertown, Mass.; Andrea (and spouse Alex) Baldwin, Ossian; Paul and Cory Turney both of Lakemoor, Ill.; two great-grandchildren Parker Northern and Dalton Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services with military honors and burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, will be at a later date.
