"All the world's a stage, / And all the men and women merely players": banished brothers, wandering lovers, a wily clown, and even Hymen, god of weddings, have roles to play in "As You Like It".
One of Shakespeare's most exuberant comedies, "As You Like It" features the incomparable Rosalind. Ever questioning, driven and witty, Rosalind travels in disguise through the Forest of Arden toward the happy conclusion of revelation, reunion and love.
Under the direction of visiting artist and renowned British Shakespearean Tim Hardy, this production of "As You Like It" includes both Notre Dame students and members of the Michiana community.
Presented by the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival - in collaboration with the University's student-run Not-So-Royal Shakespeare Company and St. Edward's Hall Players - "As You Like It" is staged in the intimate performance space of the Philbin Studio Theatre in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at the University of Notre Dame. Four performances only; seating is extremely limited.
