AKRON – William N. Kelly, 76, of Akron, died at 8:11 a.m. May 9, 2011, in his residence.
He was born July 13, 1934,  in Chicago, Ill., to William and Mary Bailey Kelly. On Sept. 28, 1963, in Chicago, he married Linda L. Hopkins, who survives.
He worked for General Tire, Wabash, for 30 years. He worked in the earlier years as a barber in Chicago. He was a member of the Moose Lodge,  Rochester. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as helping anyone. He was a die-hard Notre Dame and Bears fan. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sons: Douglas (and spouse Erin) Kelly, North Richland Hills, Texas; Victor (and spouse Susan) Kelly, Sarasota, Fla.; and William “Bill” (and spouse Kay) Kelly, Claypool; 11 grandchildren: Rashel (and Brian), Brittany (and Aaron) Brooke, Ethan, Curtis and Rick; Jimmy, Allison and Phillip; and Matt (and Abbey) and Cortnee; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Laci and Carson; a sister, Mary “Peg” Berg, Romeoville, Ill.; four sisters-in-law: Reta Bhaney and Eleanor Fetrow Bailey, both of Akron; Lorraine (and spouse Bob) Thompson, LaFountaine; and Sandra Mitchell, Kokomo; and a brother-in-law, Dwayne Hopkins (and Marge Holley), Wabash.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
