William Matthews "Matt" Dalton, San Diego, died Feb. 4, 2009.
He was born June 27, 1922, in Chicago.
He was the retired chairman of Dalton Foundries Inc.
He attended Culver Military Academy, Butler University and the Advance Management Program of Harvard Business School. He was founder and chairman of the Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation as well as the Kosciusko Leadership Academy. He served as chairman of the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce in 1983. He was chairman of the Indiana Committee on Youth Employment from 1979 to 1982. He was a councilman for the Kosciusko County Council from 1980 to 1984. He was a trustee for the Indiana Vocational Technical College from 1964 to 1968; a member of the Warsaw Community School board member from 1962 to 1968. He was the founder and chairman of the Industrial Division of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce in 1959 and founder of Warsaw Junior Achievement in 1953.
Surviving are his wife, Fran; two sons, Jim and Brad; and a daughter, Kay; a stepson Russ, three granddaughters, four step-grandchildren and one great-grandson.
