WARSAW – William L. ‘Bill’ Hoene, 67, Chapman Lake, Warsaw, passed away at 3:08 a.m. March 23, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was born April 11, 1947, in Effingham, Ill., to Frank Henry and Emma Catherine Repking Hoene. On March 21, 1982, in Jackson, Mich., he married Nelva D. “Nellie” Rickman Burt, who survives in Warsaw. He grew up in Effingham, and graduated in 1965 from St. Anthony High School there. In 1969, he graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., and was a U.S. Army veteran. He moved to the Kosciusko County area in 1978 from Sterling, Ill. He was the owner/operator of Hoene Tiling, Leesburg, for 12 years and former manager at CFS in Milford for 15 years. He was raised in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham. He was a member of the North Webster American Legion Post #253, and he was an avid fisherman. Also surviving are four daughters: Jennifer (and spouse James) Sawyer, Michigan City; Amy Hoene, Indianapolis; Sharon Burgett, Chelsea, Mich.; Deb (and spouse Bud) Garman, Pierceton; two sons, William (and spouse Teresa) and Rick Baisden, both of Warsaw; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (and spouse William) Flach, Edwardsville, Ill., and Carol (and spouse Ron) West, Watson, Ill.; three brothers: Frank (and spouse Janet) and Mike (and spouse Cindy) Hoene, both of Effingham; and Patrick (and spouse Kippy) Hoene, St. Louis, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Hunter Lewis; and a sister, Norma Wagner.
