William E. “Bill” Patterson, 89, died at 2:30 a.m. June 4, 2012, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.

He was born Jan. 15, 1923, in Warsaw, to Roy E. and Lydia A. Pittenger Patterson On Oct. 17, 1953, in Fort Wayne, he married Neva David, who survives.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he was a farmer and a member of Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw. He lived on his farm for 50 years. He was a good dad and cared for his wife at home for as long as he was able. They  enjoyed their travels to Alaska and Canada, both coasts of the United States (by train). They took each of their children and grandchildren to Disney World.

Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth (and spouse Cynthia) Patterson, Syracuse, and David Patterson, Warsaw; a daughter, Karen (and spouse Joe) Patrick, Leesville, La.; eight grandchildren: Derek (and spouse Ellen) Patterson, Tera (and spouse Cory) Hill, Christopher Patterson, Zachery and Zekiel McKenzie, Shannon (and spouse Matt) Wagoner, Jessie (and spouse Lloyd) Kauffman and Julie (and spouse Jamie) Thorn; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale R. Patterson, who died Sept. 8, 1992; a sister, Emmajeane Lightfoot, who died in Nov. 17, 2000; a son, Michael Patterson, who died Oct. 3, 1979; and a grandson, Johnathon Patterson, who died Feb. 22, 2008.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jack Worth of Dutchtown Brethren Church. Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
