William Douglas Murray, "Bill" to his friends, born on Sept. 2, 1940, in Warsaw, to the late Mabel Virginia (nee Redding) and the late Edward Max, passed away at age 78 on Nov. 10, 2018, in Palos Park, Ill.
William graduated from Purdue University with his bachelor's degree in 1962 and from Indiana University School of Law with his Juris Doctorate in 1967.
He served in the Army from 1962 to 1974, achieving the rank of major, and practiced law until his retirement.
Beloved partner of Karen Wrobel; survived by his son, Michael (Tanja); daughter, Stephanie (Erik) Johnson (nee Murray); brother, Edward; sister, Patricia Gargett (nee Murray); grandchildren, Brianna and Fiona; and beloved nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed travel, history, art and sports, and was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and the Illinois Bar Association.
Private interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
