William D. Gamble, age 97, of Warsaw, passed away on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, in Warsaw.
He was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in Dothan, Ala., to William S. and Annie Pearl King Gamble. He married Dolores Hawley on Oct. 8, 1956, in Nappanee. She passed away on Jan. 5, 2007.
William graduated from Nappanee High School in 1947. He also worked for Clausing Inc. in Warsaw for 40 years. He loved His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and faithfully served Him for many years. Prayer was very important to him and was an encouragement to all his family.
He is survived by his beloved children, Anne "Beth" (David) Stafford, of Warsaw; and Christopher (Beverly) Gamble, of Chicago. William was also a proud grandfather to Karlie Kilmer, Christin Jacobs, Malynda Moore, Matthew Stafford and Jennifer Stafford, who brought him immense joy. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Dakota, Quinn, Parker, Penelope, Zelda, Kaleb, and Brodie; whose laughter and vitality he cherished deeply.
William's life was filled with cherished moments with family and a profound connection to those he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his half brothers: William S. Gamble, Jr., Charles A. Gamble and Daniel J. Gamble. Their memories remain close to the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit lives on in the family he adored.
