NORTH MANCHESTER - William D. Brown, 80, of North Manchester, died at 6:05 a.m. March 10, 2011, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born June 11, 1930, in Sterling, Ill., to Dewey Oliver and Lilly Olive Webb Brown. On March 19, 1950, he married W. Lorraine Reitzel, who died July 13, 2008.

He was a milk truck driver for Kraft Foods, Milledgeville, Ill., a salesman for Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. and retired as a truck driver from Heckman Bindery, North Manchester. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a former member of TAP, North Manchester, and a former member of Chain-Of-Lakes Barbershop Quartet. He was a certified white-faced brethren clown. He graduated in 1948 from Milledgeville (Ill.) High School.

Surviving are a son, Gregg (and spouse Debbie) Brown, Sidney; two daughters, Colleen Brown and Lorry (and spouse Scott) Garber, all of North Manchester; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
