PIERCETON - William A. Stark, 82, of Claypool, died at 8:10 p.m. July 3, 2010, in his residence.
He was born June 14, 1928, in Newberry, to Herman and Gaynell Hale Stark. On Dec. 12, 1953, in Converse, he married Marie Mae Warner, who survives.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he worked in various jobs during the 1960s, '70s and '80s. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 258, Pierceton. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force at the end of World War II and then the U.S. Air Force during the Berlin Airlift. He was honorably discharged Sept. 17, 1949.
Also surviving are a daughter, Betty (and spouse Billy H.) Poe, Warsaw; two sons, William A. Stark II, Claypool, and Herman Wade (and spouse Laura) Stark, Peru; a sister, Wilma Shaw, Linton; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Lyons, with Wade Allen Stark officiating.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
