NORTH MANCHESTER – Willard Hackworth, 79, of South Whitley, died at 4:10 a.m. June 26, 2013, in his daughter’s residence in North Manchester. He was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Brady and Glatha Shepherd Hackworth. On Dec. 2, 1954, he married Ann R. Meadows, who died Dec. 3, 2004. He was a farmer, retiring after 30 years from Manchester Foundry, North Manchester. He also worked at Meadows Well Drilling. Surviving are two sons, David (and spouse Sheila) Hackworth, Silver Lake, and Jerry (and Debbie Gilbert) Hackworth, Mentone; two daughters, Luci (and spouse Wayne) Staton, North Manchester, and Christine (and spouse Rick) Manns, Akron; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, nine brothers and three sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with the Rev. Craig Arnett officiating. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
